The island of Langeoog is just a 30 min. boat trip away from the North German coastline and has experienced many changes in form and size over the centuries due to the elements of wind and water. Since the late 19th century, people began to settle on the island. The healthy North Sea climate, the harsh beauty of the island and the broad variety of health treatments have inspired its many visitors for some 150 years.
Cars have to be left on the mainland - that is the most important reason for the relaxing effect of a stay on the "island for life" - as it is called by its many fans. The beautiful white sandy beach is another main feature that stays in the memory of so many island visitors - and keeps them coming back.
